Finally, the Land has been selected for the airport in Dhanbad. And the report has been sent to the Deputy commissioner by the Balliapur Circle Office. After the huge crowd in Darbhanga, the airport will be
constructed in Dhanbad soon. The exercise to identify land for Dhanbad airport has also been escalated.
Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Singh had directed Balliapur Circle Officer Ram Pravesh to send the marked land and its map in Balliapur. The CO has sent the documents to the district headquarters.
The land that has been allocated for the airport by Balliapur CO includes 90.2 acres of FCI or 120.59 acres of
non-inhabited land and 425.39 acres of Raiyati Land spread over there.
Let us inform that the Director of Civil Aviation Department, Captain SP Sinha had given a letter to
Dhanbad DC on July 5, 2018. For the proposed airport, 642 acres of land were sought in Balliapur in two
phases. On 18 September 2018, the Circle Officer of Balliapur informed the Additional Collector that the
land for the airport has been identified. At that time also the information about the land was sent to the
district headquarters.
The Congress leaders have thanked the Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner, the people of the district for
identifying about 650 acres of land for airport construction in Dhanbad. The meeting of the District
Congress Committee was held in the Housing Colony office in which apart from the District President,
many leaders were present. In the meeting, the Congress leaders said that the demand for airports in
Dhanbad for years and the dream it seems will be executed now.
District President Brijendra Singh said that once again the hope of the airport has awakened in the
coalfield. The district administration has identified about 650 acres of land. The Congress hopes that
the district administration will submit the proposal to the Civil Aviation Minister for the identified land
papers at the earliest so that a new airport can be started in Koyalanchal. Having an airport in
Koyalanchal will bring relief to the general public.
It is being told that the distance of Dhanbad station from the proposed airport in Balliapur is 21 km, 20 km
from DC office, 16 km from Govindpur Chowk, Jharia CO office 16 km, 16 km from Hurl office, and 3 km
from Balliapur Chowk has been shown. Along with Balliapur, land has been identified in Hariyari,
Baghmara, Bardaha, Sanwalpur, Raghunathpur, Bandarchunwa Mauja.
