Let’s Know About What Will Happen To 10 Years Of Old Diesel Vehicle And 15 Years Old Petrol Vehicles In Delhi and also know what the Delhi department says about it.

If you live in Delhi NCR. So don’t come on the road with a 10-year-old diesel car or a 15-year-old petrol car. The Delhi transport department has clearly said if a 10-year-old diesel vehicle or 15-year-old petrol vehicle is found running on the roads. Then it will be confiscated and sent for scrapping.
In fact, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) is very strict regarding the increasing pollution in Delhi. The
Delhi Transport Department has made it cleared that the vehicles whose deadline has expired by 1
January 2022. All that registrations are canceled now.

On the first day of the year on 1st June 2022, on the orders of the National Green Tribunal i.e. NGT, the
registration of about one lakh vehicles has been canceled. All these vehicles were 10 years old.

Not only this, in the coming few days, 15 years old petrol vehicle registration will also be canceled soon.
According to the Delhi transport department, the number of petrol vehicles is more than 43 lakhs.
Which includes 32 lakhs two-wheelers and 11 lakhs four-wheelers.
But if the condition of your car is suitable to run on the road. So don’t need to turn it into junk.

Then the government has given us two options.
(a) Now you can run it by getting an electric kit fitted into your vehicles.
(b) Apart from this, you can sell it in other states by taking a no-objection certificate i.e. NOC from the
Delhi Transport Department.


The First Option: – Talk about the first option, the Delhi transport department will issue a NOC to sell the
vehicle in other states. Based on this, these vehicles can be re-registered and sold in other states.
However, in the states where there is a ban on their re-registration. The Delhi Transport Department will not allow NOC.

You can sell your cars in states like Rajasthan and Meghalaya by taking NOC from Delhi Transport Department.
This rule will be valid in 18 districts of Bihar. Similarly, registration of old Delhi vehicles can be done in 33 districts of Uttar Pradesh. And there will be no NOC is applicable for 26 corporate districts of Maharashtra.


Second Option: – Talking about the second option, the government has given the option to convert
these vehicles into electric in their order.
To convert any diesel or petrol vehicle into an electric vehicle, you need an Electric Control Unit or ECU.
Many companies sell this type of electric motor or ECU in the market. The cost of converting an old
diesel or petrol vehicle to an electric is equal to 15% of the new vehicle. The cost of converting a small car
like Maruti Alto to an electric vehicle is around Rs. 2,00,000. And obviously, the cost of the big vehicle will be more than the small vehicle.
