Mahatma Gandhi is the father of our nation. His full was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. He was born on 2 October 1869 at Porbandar in Gujarat. He died on 30 January 1948. Mahatma Gandhi was an Indian lawyer. He played a great role to free our country from British rule. He led many successful campaigns and inspired the Indian people for freedom. He was a simple and kindhearted person. People said that Gandhi was having shy nature. Mahatma Gandhi successfully practiced some occupations like Lawyer, anti-colonialist and political ethicist. Mahatma Gandhi married Kasturba Gandhi. They got their four children named Harilal, Manilal, Ramdas and Devdas. The name of Mahatma Gandhi’s parents was Karamchand Gandhi (father) and Putlibai Gandhi (mother). Mahatma Gandhi was born in a Hindu family in Gujarat. He went to England to become a barrister. Before going to England, he promised his mother that he would never touch alcohol and never smoke a cigarette. He got a proposal from South Africa to work as a lawyer in 1893. At the age of 23, he went to the south and spent 21 years there. In South Africa, he developed his political view skill, ethics, and politics. Mahatma Gandhi returned to India in 1915 from South Africa. After returning from South Africa he was very popular as a leading Indian nationalist. In 1920, he became a member of the Indian nationalist congress. At the age of 45, in 1915 he returned to India to get rid completely of the matter of discrimination and against excessive land revenue taxes.

About his life

Mahatma Gandhi entered his schooling at the age of nine in Rajkot, near his home. In his school, he studied arithmetic, history, and geography in the Gujarati language. He was an average student and only focused on his books and his study materials. He was not so good at sports and was very shy by nature. At the age of 18 years, he graduated from Ahmadabad high school. He was a prolific writer. He placed a “great soul” in the eyes of millions of his fellow. In May 1883, he married Kasturba Gandhi. It was an arranged married. He believes that education is the most powerful weapon in this world for the new generation to achieve better fundamental rights. While Mahatma Gandhi walking to his prayer meeting on the lawn of Birla House in New Delhi, a young Hindu extremist shot down him by a gunshot named Nathuram Godse and put an end to his life on 30 January 1948. He led many movements such as The Quit India Movement, The Non-Cooperation Movement, and the Chauri Chaura Incident.

He said to the children of his nation: – Though physically I am not with you, my soul and prayers are always with you. I want you to grow up as true sons and daughters of Bharatmata and make India God’s own country.
