Ever since India became independent, many grand constructions have been built in our country. For example, Bandra Worli Sea Link, Mumbai, Maharashtra. You can roughly imagine that $250 million was spent to make it. The World’s tallest Statue is the Statue of Unity, which is 182 m (597 ft) in height. It is located in the state of Gujarat, India, on the Narmada River in the Kevadiya colony. The cost of making it came to about $ 422 million. After that, there is big dams in our country have been built, like Tehri Dam. It is the longest dam in India. The cost of making it came to around $ 2.5 billion. You can roughly guess about Rs. 15 to 16000 crores. And now India is going to make the most expensive project of its history.
Recently, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh has confirmed this. India’s first space station will be launched in 2030.
This will be the most expensive project ever for India.

Now, if we look at history, the first space station in history was launched by the Soviet Union on April 19, 1971. This was the world’s first space station named Salyut 1. Salyut 1 was a very small space station. But later a proper modular space whose parts can be launched comfortably. And it can perform many functions by itself and be a proper laboratory. This space station was again launched by the Soviet Union on 20 February 1960. There used to be a
space station named Mir.
In Russia, Mir meant peace and the world. When it was launched, America, Britishers, entire Western Europe, whichever countries come in the American continents. All those countries were quite jealous. They could not understand how the USSR had made so much progress in space. How did it launch a complete modular space station?
And when Mir had to retire the USSR collapsed. After that when these people were not able to afford Mir. After that, the US decided to collaborate with the USSR. Because America knew that now the USSR would not be able to operate Mir. After this America offered Russia to build an international space station togetherly. When the International Space Station became active in 1998. Where countries around the world started to invest money and also called the scientists. All the countries around the world cooperated. Like Germany, Sweden, Russia, Japan, America, France, and Canada, almost all the countries cooperated together. At that time the country like India and China were not a part of it. Today the International Space Station has completed almost 23 years. now, America is handling the maintenance of the international space station. The US space agency NASA only looks after its maintenance. The most expensive man-made object ever to be built is named the International Space Station in history. The cost of making the international space station was about 100 – 120 billion dollars. Roughly, you can guess that around 8,00,000 crore rupees were spent on it.
But, now the company will retire the International Space Station around by 2030. And then in the future, there will be only two space stations in space.
One is the China space station which is almost ready. China’s space station is named the Tiangong space station that is made by China.
And the other Space Station of India will probably be ready in 2030.
